The Foundation for Kansai Region Promotion joined a part of “ALL Kansai FESTIVAL in Bangkok 2013” held at Isetan Bangkok from Oct. 17 through 27 to publicize the Kansai region of Japan. The festival started in 2011 with the aim of introducing “food” and “culture” of Kansai to the people of Thailand and this is the 3rd year. At the venue of Isetan Bangkok, demonstration sales of Takoyaki of Osaka and ramen of Kyoto, sales of Omi beef of Shiga and Somen (Japanese vermicelli) of Hyogo and other foods were conducted. Many people were seen enjoying and purchasing delicacies of Kansai. On weekends during the event period, stage events were organized and the foundation introduced attractiveness of Kansai by showing Kansai PR DVD on screen and conducting a quiz game. Osaka and Shiga prefectural governments also publicized their attractions. Also the event had “GEAR”, a non-verbal performance show whose stories are expressed by actions and music only without using language and Nankin Tamasudare performance, a Japanese traditional street performance, as well as PR mascots appearing on stage.
