Familiarization Trip and Business Meeting for Chinese Travel Agencies

The Foundation invited Chinese travel agencies on a familiarization trip of 5 days from November 11 to visit 6 prefectures in the Kansai region. This is the second trip designed for Chinese travel agencies this year following the one in July and 6 staff members in charge of planning from leading travel agencies in Shanghai and Guangzhou looked around the attractive tourists’ spots and hotels in Kansai in 2 groups. Each group involved 4 business meetings with local tourism-related business operators. The inbound tourism from Chinese market is on a track to recovery, and not only personal travels are fast increasing but also group tours gather momentum in exploring less well-known aspects of Japan in addition to standard tours. Under such circumstances, participants were enthusiastically gathering information for their product planning targeting at the Chinese New Year and cherry blossom season. Also, their visit was reported in a local newspaper and a TV program in Fukui prefecture.
The Foundation intends to continue effective promotion and marketing activities for the Chinese market as well as following up these familiarization trips.
