MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2016 (September)

From Sep. 2 to 4, the Foundation, in collaboration with Wakayama and Universal Studios Japan, participated in annual “MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2016 (September)” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to promote the attractiveness of the Kansai Region of Japan. MATTA Fair, organized by MATTA(the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents), is an international travel fair designed for the general public of Malaysia.
Many visitors asked for detail information on transportations and hotel lodgings, some of them brought their own itinerary asking for practical advice at the booth, well demonstrating the fact that more and more tourists from Malaysia visit Japan individually not in a group tours.
In the Travel Seminar/Business Meeting arranged after the Fair, the Foundation met the representatives of local travel agencies and introduced Kansai as Muslim-friendly region featuring seafood of coastal area and Shojinryori or vegetarian meals of Mt. Koya and Mt. Hiei etc. The foundation will continue to implement diverse promotional campaigns targeting Malaysia.
*This project was conducted as part of Visit Japan Project in collaboration with Kinki District Transport Bureau.
