The Korean Market: 2016 HANATOUR International Travel Show


 
Exhibition at 2016 HANATOUR International Travel Show in Seoul
 
   The Foundation for Kansai Region Promotion set up an exhibition in the 2016 HANATOUR International Travel Show held in Goyang city on June 9 through 12, in collaboration with Kinki District Transport Bureau and prefectures in the Kansai region. As with last year, the Kansai exhibition was situated in the Japan Pavilion and the booths were colorfully decorated on the theme of “Matsuri” or Japanese festival.
 
   Visitors numbered 95,000 which increased by 70% from the previous year and the Kansai booths had a flow of visitors all through the days, too. The booths introduced tourists’ spots and railway passes using screen image and leaflet as well as distributed 10,000 pieces of flyer which promotes travel products to tour the prefectures and cities joining the show with the cooperation of Hana Tour. The sales reached 32.2 billion won more than twice as large as last year. “Kansai Blog”, which provides information of Kansai in Korea received new friend requests from 1,000 visitors.

   The Foundation will continue to plan and develop promotional activities to increase the number of tourists from Korea in cooperation with the parties concerned in the Kansai region.
