“The 32nd National Cultural Festival in Nara, 2017” and “The 17th National Art/Cultural Festival for Persons with Disabilities in Nara”

    Two of Japan’s largest events “The 32nd National Cultural Festival in Nara, 2017”
    and “The 17th National Art/Cultural Festival for Persons with Disabilities in Nara” are
    being held together in Nara Prefecture for the first time in the country from Friday, September 1st
    to Thursday, November 30th.
    More than 100 cultural art events held in 39 cities, towns and villages in the prefecture are
    being cheered up by both handicapped and non-handicapped people together!
    There are still so many events yet to be held until the finale “Yamato no matsuri” on November 25th
    and the closing ceremony on November 26th.
    “NARA international exchange festival” and “World Festival Tenri 2017” will be held
    concurrently in Nara City on November 11th and 12th. These are the events where you can
    enjoy the world’s music, dance, gourmet and fashion. The purpose is to aggressively promote
    the diversified culture of Nara Prefecture and to enhance international exchange and mutual
    understanding of arts and culture.
    The powerful brand of Nara, which is the birthplace of Japanese culture which triumphs accumulated 
    historical and cultural assets, will be advertised abroad through these largest cultural events in Japan
    toward the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
    At the same time, the 4th “Nara Arts Festival” will be held throughout the prefecture under the theme
    of “Brighten up Nara with the Power of Culture!” to spice up Nara culturally in fall.
