Kito Cedar Log Riding Contest

This is an event in which ippon-nori (log riding), a traditional performance technique, is recreated. Ippon-nori has been handed down to the village of Kito as a cedar logging method. People compete in going down the Nakagawa river on a cedar log while keeping their balance with a pole called a tobi. There is a seminar on log riding, which beginners are also welcome to attend.
