Arima Grand Tea Ceremony

(Hyogo :Annual Events)

Arima Grand Tea Ceremony

This event was initiated in 1950 to commemorate the achievements of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who loved Arima very much. It is also an effort to preserve the tradition of tea ceremony and to promote Arima Onsen spa. A ceremony to dedicate a bowl of tea to the spirit of Hideyoshi is performed at Zenpukuji temple. There is also an open-air tea service in Zuihozi Park, allowing visitors to enjoy tea and a view of beautifully colored maple leaves (charged).
