Summer Festival (Ohei-sai)
The origin of the festival is attributed to the ceremony for purging plagues in the beginning of the Edo Period. To purge evil, three huge Ohei (brush-like item for Shinto ceremonies) of seven meters in length are carried around the hall, followed by a small shrine borne by people.
