Nabekanmuri Matsuri

Nabekanmuri matsuri means "pan-coronate" festival. This is because eight-year-old girls wearing traditional kariginu costumes and paper-made pans on their heads join a parade of the festival. Though there are several different stories about the origin of the festival, a pan on head is related to the gods of foods enshrined at the shrine. This festival is one of the three most unique festivals in Japan.
