Economic mission to be sent to Philippines

Business organizations in Osaka, including the Osaka Business Partnership City (BPC) Council and the Osaka Exporters' & Importers' Association, will send an Asia economic exchange mission to Manila and Cebu in the Philippines from February 21 to 25 in 1999.
The 15-member mission, to be headed by Noritada Ito, chairman of the Osaka Exporters' & Importers' Association, will meet government and business leaders in the Philippines, and visit Japanese-affiliated factories and industrial complexes there.
On the afternoon of February 22, a seminar on promotion of investment in Japan and entry to the Japanese market will be held jointly with the Philippine Department of Trade & Industry and the Federation of the Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry in Manila, among others.
In the seminar, the Manila Center of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will explain the Japanese investment environment to Philippine business enterprises and introduce business chances available at the Asia and Pacific Trade Center (ATC). Business deals will also be held.
